Patteh Embroidery Workshop – Artist-in-Residence Program

Join us for this hands-on workshop, led by Artist-in-Residence Arghavan Booyeh! You’ll learn the essential stitches and start your own unique piece with expert guidance every step of the way. No prior experience needed except curiosity and a love for craft!

Patteh is an ancient embroidery style from Kerman in southeast Iran. With bold colored thread and intricate patterns, Patteh tells cultural stories with natural hand-stitched imagery.

Collaborative Sailcloth Weaving Workshop – Community Art Project
Thursday, AHA! Night — 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park

This workshop will engage the community in creating a large-scale public artwork for installation on New Bedford City Hall in June. Participants learn basic weaving and will cut sailcloth into strips to use them as warps and wefts and weave strips to create creative panels.
